Uncle Sam Home Defense Cards
The Home Defense subset is remarkably rare due to its publication after the United States entered the war, which made it subject to various rationing restrictions. This set focuses on the preparation of the civiliation population for consequences of war. This was considered to be particularly important--cards 97-100 were even reprinted in black and white in "Pic" magazine, a popular large-format weekly magazine at the time. Currently, Deke's Collection is missing several of these cards. Numbers 121-144 are renown for their rarity.
